If this is you, we've got your perfect opportunity! Covenant Health’s People Relations team has an opening for a Manager, People Relations. This position reports to the Corporate Director, Talent Acquisition & People Relations and is accountable for guiding the team in resolving complex workplace challenges, fostering a respectful and compliant culture, and aligning employee relations practices with organizational goals. The Manager will serve as a strategic partner within the greater cross-functional leadership team, drive proactive engagement strategies, and ensure adherence to legal and policy standards. We are in search for an individual who has proven expertise in conflict resolution, labor law, and organizational effectiveness, combined with strong leadership skills to develop and mentor a high-performing team. You are equipped to support organizational plans; make ethical decisions and provide result-oriented recommendations. This position will lead/monitor team performance, strategic evolutions and change and drive continuous improvement. This Manager, People Relations position will be responsible for Leading, coaching, and developing a team of People Relations Consultants and Advisors, ensuring consistent application of policies and best practices; Setting priorities, allocating resources, and monitoring workload to meet organizational needs and service-level expectations; Providing guidance and escalation support for high-risk or complex employee relations cases; Fostering a collaborative, high-performance team culture focused on continuous improvement and professional growth. The incumbent will also Oversee resolution of sensitive employee grievances and complaints, ensuring fair, evidence-based outcomes; Ensure team compliance with labor laws, collective agreements, and organizational policies through audits and reviews; Partner with senior leadership to design and implement employee relations programs and solutions that enhance engagement, morale, and retention; Lead strategic initiatives to strengthen labor relations and mitigate organizational risk. This position is further responsible for Supervising and reviewing workplace investigations conducted by team members; ensure accuracy, thoroughness, and legal compliance; Providing expert guidance on disciplinary actions and performance management strategies; Serving as final reviewer for investigation reports, projects, programs and recommendations before submission to leadership; Developing and delivering training programs for leaders and team members on conflict resolution, labor law, and employee relations best practices; Championing organizational values and ethical frameworks, ensuring alignment in all employee relations activities; Carrying out other duties within the scope of this position. This is a non-unionized position.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations or related field. 10+ years of progressive HR experience, including 5+ years in a formal or informal leadership role within employee relations or labor relations. Advanced knowledge of labor laws, collective agreements, and conflict resolution strategies.

Proven ability to lead teams handling complex investigations and high-stakes employee relations issues. Exceptional leadership, coaching, decision making and team development skills. Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure while maintaining discretion and professionalism. Demonstrated ability to work with a range of personalities and within an interprofessional environment. Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment to develop and achieve shared goals and objectives. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HR systems. Understanding of the healthcare system from a corporate, HR standpoint and Commitment to Covenant Health Vision, Mission and Values.
Preferred Qualifications:
CPHR Designation. Certification in workplace investigations and/or labor relations.
