Job Summary:
In this role, you will be the Subject Matter Expert for the Structural Engineering of Advanced Manufacturing Facilities including Semiconductor Manufacturing facilities and Data Centers. You will interface with client teams to determine work scope and support cost estimates for a project’s civil/structural aspects. You will lead and mentor structural engineering teams with design, modification, evaluation, and constructability reviews of civil/structural components and processes. Your technical expertise will ensure the unique and complex requirements of a project’s civil/structural aspects are met.
"This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and will require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership”
Major Responsibilities:
Plans and conducts independent scope of work and technical specificationsfor Civil/Structural design on large Advanced Manufacturing and Data Center Facilities
Leads the design, development, modification and evaluation of Civil/Structural components andprocesses utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), designstandards and guides, and Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs)
Reviews and approves key design documents, supplier drawings and data, material specifications, drawings, change orders, and bid summaries for the project to which assigned
Authors Departmental standards and design guides to perform structural engineering design of Advanced Manufacturing Facilities
Determines the appropriate use of various structural elements such as steel, wood, masonry, and concrete to ensure appropriate material is used based on load or stress requirements
Originates and checks complex Civil/Structural engineering deliverables, such as steel and concrete calculations, specifications, and material requisitions
Develops conceptual designs for Civil/Structural engineering projects or projects havingspecialized or unique requirements
Interviews client personnel to determine their needs, develops scope for cost estimates for servicesand participates in proposal preparation and presentation
Prepares or oversees the preparation of discipline estimates and work plans inaccordance with project scope, schedule, and budget, and supportsimplementation and assists with performance reporting
Interprets new or special regulations, codes, standards, criteria, and performancedata
Requirements
Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires a bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent) and 13-15 years of relevant experience or 17-19 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Recognized as advanced contributor with experience in the design and design supervision of advanced manufacturing facilities
Considered subject matter expert within structural engineering discipline
Having wide-ranging experience, uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways
