At CP2, our mission is to empower the success of our clients, our team, and our communities by providing exceptional legal and consulting services. We live and adhere to our core values: service, trust, professionalism, excellence, collaboration, results, and leadership.
We are a Colorado law firm with 27 attorneys across offices in Denver, Fort Collins, and Greeley, serving clients in four core practice areas: real estate, business and corporate, estate planning, and litigation. Thirteen years in, we are a firm where relationships matter; with clients, with each other, and with our communities. We are growing, and we are looking for an experienced professional to help lead that growth.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As our Business Development & Marketing Specialist, you will lead CP2’s client development strategy and market presence, partnering with firm leadership and with attorneys across all three offices.
This is a senior, hands-on role with firm-wide scope. You will shape direction and carry it out: developing a client development strategy with a partner in the morning, producing a proposal or a print ad in the afternoon, and drafting a press release before the day is done. It rewards range: the same person is trusted with strategy and with the details that make it real.
You will work closely with our Chief Operating Officer and firm leadership, with the access and the visibility to move quickly. The position is based in Denver and includes travel to our Fort Collins and Greeley offices approximately one day per month each, supporting attorneys and maintaining a consistent presence across the firm.
WHAT YOU’LL WORK WITH
You will step into an established function with real momentum behind it:
An approved annual marketing plan and budget
An established firm website and active media relationships
A client opportunity pipeline already in use across the firm
Business development mentorship underway with our attorneys
Engaged firm leadership that understands the value of this work and is invested in it
27 attorneys across four practice areas and three offices, and a growing Colorado client base
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Business Development
Partner with firm leadership and individual attorneys to develop, refine, and implement business development plans tailored to each attorney’s practice and client base
Advance the firm’s business development mentorship work, bringing structure, preparation, and consistent follow-through
Identify and pursue cross-selling opportunities that deepen existing client relationships and expand revenue across practice areas and offices
Lead pitch, proposal, and RFP processes; from content development and competitive positioning through presentation strategy and pursuit team coordination
Conduct market and competitive research to identify new business opportunities, emerging client needs, and trends relevant to our practice areas
Drive the firm’s client opportunity pipeline, maintaining data integrity and reporting on movement through each stage of the business development cycle
Lead client satisfaction and feedback initiatives that strengthen key client relationships
Manage strategic sponsorships, conferences, and professional memberships, ensuring the firm receives its contracted benefits and tracking return
Marketing & Communications
Execute the firm’s annual marketing and communications plan, and prepare the plan and budget for the year ahead
Draft, distribute, and track press releases; cultivate media contacts and monitor coverage of firm news
Manage the firm’s LinkedIn presence, including content calendar, publishing, engagement, and performance metrics
Support attorney thought leadership and speaking engagements; topic identification, content development, logistics, CE/CLE accreditation, and branded materials
Design ads and marketing collateral for print and digital channels
Maintain and update the firm website: content, attorney bios, practice area pages, and news
Manage outside vendor relationships, including printers, designers, and media
Reconcile the marketing budget monthly, track spend against plan, and report to leadership
Report on marketing and business development activity and outcomes, including annual client development metrics
Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of all activities, duties, or responsibilities required of the employee. Duties and activities may change at any time with or without notice.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
5+ years in marketing, communications, and/or business development, including experience leading programs end to end, professional services experience (law, accounting, architecture, engineering, commercial real estate, consulting) is strongly preferred
Experience supporting attorneys or other professional services practitioners with business development planning, pitches, and client development
Strong writing across registers: polished press releases, compelling pitches and proposals, sharp social content, and client-facing materials, all with equal confidence
Working proficiency in graphic design tools (Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, or similar)
Experience with website CMS platforms; basic HTML a plus
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently, with strong attention to detail and accuracy
Comfort with budget tracking and reporting, including monthly reconciliation and annual metrics
Comfort working within an approval process and with multiple internal stakeholders, in a law firm this is professional diligence, not a barrier
A collaborative, low-ego approach: you take the work seriously, not yourself
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, journalism, or a related field
Reliable personal transportation for monthly inter-office travel
WHAT WE OFFER
Salary range of $85,000–$95,000 annually, commensurate with experience
Comprehensive benefits package
A collegial, stable work environment with thirteen years of steady growth behind it
The opportunity to lead a high-impact function and shape the business development strategy and market presence of a firm at a meaningful point in its growth
