Description
TJA Executive Staffing is recruiting a Director of Human Resources for a high-integrity and mission-driven non-profit organization with a portfolio in excess of $100M that serves as a service coordinator, advocate, and provider for elderly, vulnerable adults, and caregivers residing in Detroit, Hamtramck, Harper Woods, Highland Park & the 5 Grosse Pointes.
The Director of Human Resources (HR) is a vital member of any organization that seeks to oversee all HR functions across the organization, ensure successful business operations, and help to maintain a positive work culture. As the leader of the HR team, the HR Director is responsible for the overall management of personnel, training and development, policy development and interpretation, regulatory compliance, and employee relations. Candidate must have strong experience in healthcare regulations, risk management standards, and employee laws.
Requirements
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (not an all-inclusive list):
- Position reports directly to Chief Administrative Officer (CAO)
- Develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and programs to support org. goals and objectives.
- Oversee full employee lifecycle, from recruitment & onboarding to performance management & offboarding.
- Manage and lead a team of HR professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and support to ensure optimal performance.
- Be a strategic partner and collaborate with leadership to identify talent gaps and develop plans for attracting, developing, and retaining top talent.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable employment laws and regulations and maintain knowledge of current HR trends and best practices.
- Partner with leadership and employees to resolve complex HR issues and promote a positive and inclusive work environment.
- Oversee employee performance management programs, including goal setting, performance evaluations, and career development plans.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources and Business Administration. Master's degree preferred.
- Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) - (preferred)
- Minimum 10 years' experience in senior management and working with the Board of Directors
- Minimum of eight (8) years of progressive experience in human resources, with a focus on HR Mgmt.
- Have strong experience in healthcare regulations, risk management standards, and employee laws.
- Proficient in HRIS systems, MS Office, and/or other HR-related software.
- Extensive knowledge of employment laws and regulations (i.e., FMLA, EEOC, ADA, etc.), and experience ensuring compliance in a diverse workforce.
- Proven ability to drive change and manage transformation projects
- Demonstrated experience with organizational development and performance management
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships at all levels of the organization, and with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Demonstrated skills in managing complex employee relations matters
- Proven leadership experience and managerial skills with developing, implementing, and executing HR strategies, policies, and programs.
- Demonstrated skills of risk management and mitigating exposure to the agency.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions in complex and sensitive situations.
