Threat Tec, a leader in providing operational support and intelligence solutions, is seeking a qualified Financial Improvement and Audit Remediation (FIAR) Specialist to join our team supporting the Marine Forces Special Operations Command (MARFORSOC) under the MARSOC SME FTE Support Program. This position involves providing critical support to MARFORSOC's Financial Improvement and Audit Remediation (FIAR) efforts, including the Manager's Internal Control Program (MICP), and facilitating two simultaneous financial audits.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist MARFORSOC's Comptroller and the Commander in supporting FIAR activities and the Manager's Internal Control Program (MICP).
- Collaborate with the Resource Evaluation and Analysis (RE&A) manager to define, develop, and implement corrective action plans (CAPs) and track milestones.
- Support the resolution of Notices of Findings and Remediation (NFRs) identified during financial audits.
- Evaluate the adequacy of source documents supporting financial transactions.
- Conduct financial evaluations and monitor transaction reports to ensure compliance with Marine Corps and DoD financial policies.
- Interpret and apply financial management policies, processes, and procedures.
- Utilize Marine Corps and DoD financial systems, including Defense Agencies Initiative (DAI), Procurement Integrated Enterprise Environment (PIEE), Defense Travel System (DTS), Global Combat Support System-Marine Corps (GCSS-MC), Oracle Analytics (DAI Reporting Tool), and Advana.
- Prepare and present detailed financial reports and analysis using Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Access, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Word.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field (may be substituted with equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 4 years of Marine Corps financial management experience with one of the following Military Occupational Specialties: 3451, 3404, 3408 or - GS series 0501, 0510.
- Active Secret Clearance
- Proficiency in Marine Corps and DoD financial systems, such as DAI, PIEE, DTS, GCSS-MC, Oracle Analytics, and Advana.
- Completed training in fiscal/appropriations law.
- Skilled in assessing the adequacy of source documents, conducting financial evaluations, and monitoring transaction reports.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Access, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Word.
- Ability to interpret and apply financial management policies, processes, and procedures.
Preferred Experience
- Experience supporting financial audits in a military or defense environment.
- Familiarity with the MARFORSOC operational environment and its financial management needs.
