Manager Asset Management (Ref: 1405)
About the position:
The Manager Asset Management is responsible for the strategic planning, engineering investigation, design, lifecycle management and renewal of the City’s community infrastructure assets including transport, parks and open spaces, utility and stormwater drainage infrastructure, and ancillary built assets. The position leads the development, implementation and continuous improvement of the City’s Corporate Asset Management System, Strategic Asset Management Plan (SAMP) and 10-year Capital Works Program, ensuring infrastructure assets are designed, planned, maintained, renewed and replaced to deliver agreed levels of service in a financially sustainable manner. The position provides leadership, technical authority and specialist advice across the organisation, drives asset management in line with the National Asset Management Assessment Framework (NAMAF) and the ISO 55000 standards, and champions the use of Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) module as the City’s authoritative asset information system.
Key accountabilities:
- Effectively lead and manage the Asset Management branch to ensure integrated and efficient delivery of the teams’ outputs and services.
- Lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of the Strategic Asset Management Plan (SAMP) and Asset Management Plans (AMPs) for all infrastructure asset categories, ensuring alignment with the Integrated Planning and Reporting Framework, Long Term Financial Plan and Corporate Business Plan.
- Lead the planning, scoping and prioritisation of integrated and sustainable community infrastructure asset solutions that are practical, viable and informed by community needs and aspirations.
- Oversee the development and implementation of engineering strategies, action plans, programs and projects, including but not limited to transport, parks and open spaces, utility infrastructure and stormwater drainage assets.
- Act as the Corporate Owner of the City's asset information framework and Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) environment, establishing and enforcing asset data governance policies, standards, controls, accountabilities and performance measures across the organisation.
- Oversee and approve asset data standards, hierarchies, naming conventions, componentisation models, metadata definitions and lifecycle governance requirements, ensuring a single authoritative source of asset information exists across EAM, GIS, Project Governance (PG), financials and related systems.

Position requirements:
The successful applicant will ideally hold a degree in Engineering with postgraduate qualification in Infrastructure Asset Management or relevant field and relevant experience, or lesser qualification with significant experience in managing diverse infrastructure assets within the ISO55000 series framework. Additionally, have extensive knowledge of asset management strategy, accounting and applications such as Technology One.
Applicants who have comprehensive knowledge, skills and extensive experience in a similar role but do not have formal qualifications are encouraged to apply.
Completion of a pre-employment medical including alcohol and other substances testing is required of all positions at the City.
Remuneration and benefits:
This role is offered as a five (5) year fixed term contract. A salary package of up to $195,458.10 per annum will be offered dependent on knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications.

Extensive knowledge of asset management principles and practices including data registration, condition assessment, risk assessment, maintenance practices, levels of service, asset revaluation/depreciation, forward planning, asset management strategy, asset accounting and asset roles and responsibilities
v. Comprehensive knowledge of contemporary community infrastructure engineering principles and design, including sustainable and integrated transport planning, stormwater management, urban design and coastal engineering
vi. Extensive knowledge of asset management applications such as TechnologyOne and integration with Geographical Information Systems (GIS), as well as exceptional MS Office software skills
