Ironwood Animal Hospital is looking for a full-time Veterinarian, Medical Director to join our team in San Tan, Arizona!$50k Sign-On Bonus and Relocation Offered!
About You
As a clinical leader in our hospital, you'll drive positive change and medical excellence. In collaborative partnership with the Practice Manager and hospital leadership team, you will guide the hospital's medical standards, support hospital performance, and foster a positive, collaborative culture. Central to this role is
your active involvement in recruiting and retaining top veterinary talent, coaching and developing associate DVMs, and upholding high standards of patient care.
You'll mentor and develop associate veterinarians, support hospital operations through effective leadership and data-informed decision making, and play a key part in shaping clinical excellence and team engagement - all while modeling Thrive Pet Healthcare's Core Values.

About Ironwood
Ironwood Animal Hospital is located on the border of Queen Creek and San Tan Valley, joining the beauty of the Arizona desert with the amenities and convenience of suburban city life. This rapidly growing and diverse community welcomes everyone from new families to active retirees and single professionals. Ironwood is a state-of-the-art, full-service veterinary clinic that caters to all dog and cat breeds with a devoted and highly skilled staff. This hospital offers a supportive, team-focused environment dedicated to excellent patient care. Our practice provides general medicine with opportunities to expand services. Surgical services include dentals, spay/neuter, and soft tissue procedures. The team is also equipped with strong diagnostic capabilities, including an in-house lab, Antech reference support, and digital radiology. We treat our patients as though they were our very own. We build strong, long-term relationships with clients to ensure that the patient is getting the best care possible.
We are currently open Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm (last appointment at 4:30 pm)

Compensation negotiable based on credentials and experience with an annual PROSAL full-time range of $170,000 to $200,000 a year. The actual salary offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Your Experience & Skills
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM / VMD) or equivalent degree required; must hold a valid state veterinary board license in good standing for the state of hire, prior to date
- Active DEA license or DEA licensure eligible
- At least 3 years of veterinary practice experience
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, coach, and develop team members
- Excellent interpersonal skills with strong written and oral communication
- Sound medical reasoning skills and strong medical ethics
