Lead high-impact initiatives that improve efficiency, quality, and governance while aligning to regulatory and compliance expectations. Partner globally across Operations, Compliance, Technology, and Data to deliver sustainable change.Job Summary:
As a VP - Screening Efficiency and Organizational Strategy within Sanctions and AML Screening Operations, you will define the target-state operating model and organizational design and drive its execution with global stakeholders. You will oversee delivery of key operational initiatives across alert handling and screening to improve efficiency, quality, and controls. You will establish performance management routines and governance to ensure outcomes remain aligned to regulatory expectations and internal compliance requirements.
Job Responsibilities:
- Define and maintain the target-state operating model across people, process, technology enablement, governance, controls, and metrics.
- Lead organizational design activities including spans/layers, team structures, coverage models, workflow routing, and decision rights/RACI.
- Build and manage a multi-year roadmap with sequencing, dependencies, and measurable outcomes.
- Oversee delivery of initiatives such as productivity improvement, backlog reduction, workflow optimization, QA uplift, and control enhancements.
- Translate strategy into delivery artifacts including charters, milestones, resource plans, RAID logs, and benefits cases.
- Partner with Operations, Compliance, Technology, Data/MI, and Change teams to unblock delivery and manage tradeoffs.
- Establish KPI routines and monitor throughput, cycle time, backlog, SLA adherence, quality/accuracy, rework rates, and false-positive drivers.
- Drive capacity planning and demand forecasting through staffing models aligned to volumes, complexity, and service-level targets.
- Lead root-cause analysis across process, policy, data quality, tooling, and training to implement sustainable fixes.
- Strengthen governance forums and decision cadence across India and global partners, ensuring clear accountability.
- Ensure audit-ready traceability through appropriate controls, documentation, testing/validation, and evidence management support.
Required qualifications, capabilities and skills:
- Bring 10+ years of experience in financial services operations, operating model design, transformation, or business management roles.
- Demonstrate strong understanding of sanctions and AML screening operations and associated risks/controls.
- Lead cross-functional programs end-to-end, including planning, milestones, RAID, benefits tracking, and executive reporting.
- Apply strong analytical skills to design KPIs, perform trend analysis, and build capacity models to inform decisions.
- Influence senior stakeholders across functions and time zones without direct reporting lines.
- Communicate clearly in writing and verbally, producing concise, executive-ready materials for governance forums.
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or a related field.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills:
- Bring direct experience in sanctions screening and/or AML transaction or name screening.
- Apply process improvement methods using a Lean/Six Sigma mindset.
- Hold Lean Six Sigma certification or equivalent continuous improvement credential.
- Deliver measurable outcomes across efficiency, quality uplift, and risk/control enhancements in operations.
- Navigate complex dependencies across Operations, Compliance, Technology, and Data/MI stakeholders.
- Drive change management, including communications, training approach, rollout planning, and adoption measurement.
- Hold an MBA or other relevant advanced degree.
