VP Business Transformation
PRIMARY PURPOSE: Sedgwick, a global market leader in risk and claims administration, is in the midst of a multi‑year transformation to fundamentally re‑architect how its core businesses operate. Backed by top private equity firms and led by Sedgwick's Chief Transformation Officer, Sedgwick is reimagining how its services are delivered, with a focus on modernizing core operations, improving customer outcomes, and building scalable, data‑ and AI‑enabled ways of working.
The Vice President, Business Transformation is a senior builder and operator responsible for fundamentally reshaping how core business processes and capabilities perform at scale. They will be own the design and delivery of future-state operating and technology solutions in partnership with a business, taking point on shaping solution direction, challenging current-state architecture, assessing build vs. buy trade-offs, and ensuring transformation decisions deliver clear ROI and durable business value.
The VP owns major, cross‑functional transformation agendas across a core function or multiple areas of a business unit, taking problems from first‑principles diagnosis through full operating adoption. The Vice President partners closely with senior business and functional leaders to identify the highest‑value opportunities, build consensus on prioritization decisions, and drive end‑to‑end execution across complex stakeholder environments. Success in this role is defined by measurable, sustained changes in how the organization operates day to day.
This is a high‑visibility, high‑judgment role designed for leaders who want real ownership, decision‑making authority, and the opportunity to leave behind durable operating change at a global enterprise scale.

The transformation team includes former Bain leadership and seasoned executives from top-tier firms. Our team also includes deep experience across Fortune 50 enterprises including Amazon, Wells Fargo, HP, GE, PwC, and Tyson Foods. The group brings decades of expertise in strategy, AI, and large-scale digital transformation across financial services, technology, and industry.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES
- Leads transformation initiatives that support business unit growth objectives and deliver measurable impact through structured execution and strategic alignment.
- Partners with divisional and functional leaders to identify and focus on high-value, enterprise-critical initiatives that advance organizational priorities.
- Designs and delivers transformation programs by coordinating cross-functional teams, ensuring seamless execution and alignment with strategic goals.
- Challenges current‑state operating and technology architecture; identifies structural constraints and opportunities for simplification, modernization, or scale
- Partners with Technology, Data, and Architecture leaders to design fit‑for‑purpose future states that balance business needs, speed to value, and long‑term scalability
- Leads process redesign efforts with an emphasis on data-driven thinking and technology enablement to enhance efficiency and unlock innovation.
- Owns key build vs. buy and sequencing decisions, explicitly evaluating cost, risk, time‑to‑impact, and ROI trade‑offs
- Accelerates deployment of innovative solutions by identifying, prioritizing, and implementing high-impact use cases in collaboration with technology and business leaders.
- Applies analytical rigor to diagnose root causes, solve complex business problems, and inform data-backed decision-making.
- Drives adoption and cultural alignment by executing proactive change management strategies and engaging stakeholders at all levels.
- Serves as a trusted advisor by bringing strategic insight, executive presence, and clear, compelling communication to leadership discussions.
- Tracks outcomes, manages risks, and embeds a culture of continuous improvement into all transformation efforts to ensure long-term success.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Travels as required (up to 30%).
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsible for results delivered for a core function or multiple areas of a business unit through subordinate managers and/or senior professionals.
- Builds and leads high-performing teams, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous learning.
- Aligns diverse teams around shared goals, breaking silos and enabling seamless execution of transformation initiatives.
- Provides support, guidance, leadership, and motivation to promote maximum performance.
- Administers company personnel policies and follows staffing standards and training recommendations.
- Interviews, hires, and establishes colleague performance development plans; conducts performance discussions.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Licensing
Bachelor's degree Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Management, or a related discipline from an accredited college or university preferred. Licenses as needed. Certification one of the following areas required (e.g., Project Management Professional (PMP), Program Management Professional (PgMP), Certified Business Transformation Professional (CBTP), Change Management Certified Professional, Six Sigma).
Experience
Ten (10) years of related experience in business transformation, with several years in a management role having significant business impact or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Experience in management consulting and/or enterprise transformation roles within B2B environments required. Experience in the financial services sector (insurance, banking) highly preferred.

- Proven track record in strategy execution, analytics initiatives, and large-scale change programs
- Strong collaboration, influence, and communication skills with ability to operate at senior leadership level
- Analytical, innovative, and comfortable navigating ambiguity in complex organizations
- Applied knowledge of technology-enabled operating models and data dependencies
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills
- Proven management/leadership and negotiating skill
- Ability to create and complete comprehensive, accurate, and constructive written reports
- Ability to work in a team environment and meet or exceed performance competencies
